Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Signal Lens processes, how it is handled, and what rights you have. The site is designed to minimise data collection — there are no marketing cookies, no tracking scripts, and no third-party analytics that follow you across the web.

What data is processed

  • Cloudflare edge analytics — aggregated, server-side page view metrics (no personal identifiers, no cookies). This data is processed by Cloudflare on its edge network and is not stored in a way that identifies individual visitors.
  • Standard server logs — IP addresses, request timestamps, user agents, and referrers may be logged by Cloudflare as part of normal CDN operation. These logs are retained briefly for security and operational purposes.
  • __cf_bm cookie — a strictly necessary cookie set by Cloudflare to distinguish humans from bots. It does not track you across sites and is exempt from consent requirements under ePrivacy rules.

Legal basis

Processing is based on legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — specifically, the interest in understanding aggregate site usage, maintaining site security, and protecting against abuse. No personal data is collected beyond what is technically necessary for serving the site.

Data processor

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which acts as the data processor. Cloudflare processes requests on its global edge network. Their privacy policy and data processing terms apply to infrastructure-level data handling.

International transfers

Cloudflare may process data outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Cloudflare relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other approved transfer mechanisms to ensure adequate data protection for international transfers.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data held about you
  • Request rectification of inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability

Supervisory authority

If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For Finland, this is the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).

Cookies and tracking

Signal Lens does not use marketing cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics scripts. The only cookie is __cf_bm, set by Cloudflare for bot management. It is classified as strictly necessary and does not require consent.
